MOON GUARD • MEDIUM RP • PVE/PVP

A roleplay guild on Moon Guard whose story follows The Order of the Glove and Gauntlet, an organization dedicated to saving lives, eradicating evil, and rooting out corruption where it may be found. The order involves itself in whatever manner it can, from combating grim foes to providing succor to the downtrodden of their circumstance. Indeed, those capable with steel or spells are sought, but with the understanding there is more to the safeguarding of lives and lands than martial prowess.

(ooc.)

Glove and Gauntlet was created in December 2022 by writers experienced in running campaigns, running guilds, having participated in or being facilitators or both.

The Glove and Gauntlet strives for meaningful story-telling in the form of encounters, social sessions, and outreach to like-minded groups. While we do not enforce a strict attendance policy, we expect and make note of participation and an interest in activities with your fellow guild members.

This is a guild that reciprocates effort. What you put in is what you'll get out of it.

THE GLOVE AND GAUNTLET

OUR VALUES

First and foremost, understand that we as a guild house many individuals of varying races, cultures, sexual orientations, and gender identities. We are comprised of POC, of LGBTQ+ persons, many of which intersect. No forms of bigotry are tolerated here and there is no strike rule for demonstrations of it. Consider this the first and only warning on this matter.

RULES & GUIDELINES

i. BE RESPECTFUL, BE COURTEOUS.

As mentioned above, our guild houses individuals from several cultures, backgrounds, sexualities, and gender identities. Bigotry is an instantaneous kick. Use the pronouns someone identifies with. Joke pronouns in your TRP are not condoned, as mentioned on the first page.Respect boundaries in being told to stop if you do something that makes anyone uncomfortable, and do so the first time.Whatever your issues are with another player or group, do not air it out in-game in /y or /s or other public channels. This also extends to individuals roleplaying concepts you do not like or disagree with: leave them be, mind your own. This includes knowingly using toys and spamming emotes for the purpose of disrupting RP.

If you yourself are the target of harassment, please document every instance and report all to an officer. Before we take any action, we must have proof.

ii. DISENGAGE.

If you find yourself dealing with an RP scene that has gotten out of hand or an individual that seeks to provoke you, we encourage you to politely remove yourself from the situation. Do not aim for a "last word" or "gotcha." Leave, document the specifics, and explain to an officer if you feel the need. This is a much better alternative than keeping yourself locked in a situation that is only to flare hostilities and emotional reactions.

iii. COMMUNICATE, DON'T CHALLENGE.

If you disagree with something in guild chat or the discord, pose it tactfully and thoughtfully. Do not simply open with why something is "bad" if the tone is not a joking one. We welcome discussions, but the leadership will shut something down if it veers into personal attacks and arguments.

iv. KNOW YOUR SOURCE.

Purposely spreading misinformation about individuals, guilds, or communities will earn you only one warning. The RP community can be rife with smear campaigns, baseless accusations, and gossip. We will expect evidence for anything especially heinous, and if you can provide none, we will expect that you comment no further. This is also for the sake of G&G maintaining a current, updated "blacklist" to the best of its ability.

v. KEEP APPROPRIATE CONTENT TO APPROPRIATE CHANNELS.

Not only a rule for the Discord, but also for one's agency in the subject matter they RP. If you write adult content, please keep it to /p , in whispers, or in Discord. Please do not make it obvious out in the world that you are writing such content.

vi. WRITING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING IS AN INSTANT BAN FROM THE COMMUNITY.

G&G does not condone written sexual violence, racism against non-white humanoids, homophobia, or transphobia.

BEING INVOLVED

Glove and Gauntlet is fostered to reward those who engage and who create interest. While you won't be removed for lack of attendance unless you're consistently absent yet active elsewhere in the game or do not communicate, we will go out of our way to recognize those who are enthused about their guild members, about the story, and being here in general.

i. EVENT ATTENDANCE.

It is true that we do not maintain a strict attendance policy, but we do recognize those with interest and those without. Our event frequency is typically once a week for campaign stories, though we will on occasion put out two per week as time permits. If after a month or so you have made no effort to attend events nor given reason as to why, you will be removed from the guild.Newcomers are expected to attend two guild events during their probationary one month period.

ii. THE RECIPROCATION OF EFFORT.

This is not a guild where you should expect to be spoonfed RP. The leadership will often set aside days for RP pertinent to the campaign, "city socials," or RP in Fox Run (the fiefdom and home of many agents), but beyond that you should be able to ask your fellow guildmates to RP. Several individuals here have taken up the mantle of mentor, guard, or have built other connections with other characters as a means of creating story. You are encouraged to do the same. This standard is not only limited to RP, but other facets of the game. If you would like a mog run, to do dungeons, to raid, or to PVP, you are generally always allowed to make a call to do so! Just make sure you time and plan it accordingly.

iii. QUALITY CONTROL.

To be blunt: our guild is simply not beginner RP friendly and so we recruit accordingly. We expect players wanting to join are experienced with the fundamentals of RP, use proper punctuation, and make an effort to spell as best they can. We will also expect that you're mostly familiar with the lore of Warcraft. We don't demand you know the intimacies of what doesn't interest you, we at least hope you're learned in the material you're choosing to write for your character. This also means we're particular about what gets into the guild per character concepts. Outlandishly powerful characters, san'layn, gnolls, man'ari and Horde races will not be accepted.

THE GLOVE AND GAUNTLET

WHAT IS THE GLOVE & GAUNTLET?

❝ Those who know what they're doing deserve more than tears and standard issue. ❞

The Order of the Glove and Gauntlet originally began as Glove and Gauntlet Acquisitions (or colloquially "G&G,") a private paramilitary operations group sanctioned by the Crown whose ambition and motivators were coin and glory, a company merger of two once rival mercenary companies.Backed by capitol and funding provided by Dowager Countess Chaeliss Louvestre (now Nightgale), Glove and Gauntlet Acquisitions suited its operatives with equipment and weapon maintenance and high pay with the knowledge their contracts would not be easy ones. During this time, the company accepted only some of the higher paying contracts in the business, not wanting to exert effort for low return. But over time, there was a shift in the mindset. From rescuing victims of cultists and the grasp of a void entity, to delivering food and medicine to civilians besieged constantly by ravenous undead, the operatives would find themselves consumed by thoughts of the lives they'd saved, rather than their coffers.Co-Directors Chaeliss Nightgale and Tadhg Lachlain had also noticed this. The change began. No longer was G&G "Glove and Gauntlet Acquisitions," and no longer would it only answer to the highest bidder. It became the Order of the Glove and Gauntlet, an organization still sanctioned by the Crown to safeguard, succor, and repel threats. Comprised of warriors, scholars, riflemen from different cultures and beliefs, the order is united in its goal to protect, to rescue, to defend.

WHAT DOES THE GLOVE & GAUNTLET DO?

(The art below is from the official Hearthstone game!)

❝ Be experienced, and if not, be willing to experience it all: for better or worse. ❞

Despite the change in name and nature of the organization, the operatives of the Glove and Gauntlet are still held to high standards of performance. This is not for vanity's sake, but to uphold survival and rescue rates, maintain accuracy, and lessen chances of severe outcomes. The Glove and Gauntlet operates out of Stormwind but their reach stretches beyond local politics and strife. As readily as they are available to avert disaster, they are on standby to mitigate its effects. Since its inception, the company has been known to extend diplomatic functions to small and large communities alike. They work to provide building materials, food, and medicine to poverty-stricken villages, as well as assist in the rehoming of displaced citizens and refugees. While the company puts heavy emphasis on philanthropy and humanitarian aide, they don't sit idly by waiting for the next social issue to arise. The Glove and Gauntlet's operatives run the gamut from shadowy operatives to tacticians and battle-hardened warriors; from renowned battle mages to academics and number crunchers.Their varied skills are put to the test frequently as the company takes on jobs of all types. Security, reconnaissance and scouting, monster hunting, and delving into Azeroth's hidden mysteries are only a few of their specialties. If there's a heavy task that needs doing, the Glove and Gauntlet will do it with efficiency and grace.

What is fox run?

(For those interested in facets of 'fiefdom' RP.)

• fanart painted of redridge •

❝ Yes, venture to Redridge and its regions for your pleasure and vacations.

—But remember what we've given to keep it quiet for you. ❞

Fox Run is a region likely to mentioned several times in one's career with the Glove and Gauntlet. It is where the company began, and where the company will remember its roots. Though now the order tours across Azeroth and accepts contracts from those well beyond the borders of Redridge and Lakewood, Fox Run is a place it will always return.

Fox Run is a fiefdom designated as a county that was established approximately 450 years before the opening of the Dark Portal. It is comprised of 104,320 acres, supporting four different settlements.

Individuals that are made as permanent operatives of Glove and Gauntlet are permitted to freehold a residence in Fox Run.

This is a fact that is not hidden, but actually, frequently advertised. Currently, it is home to several operatives already, who rather enjoy the seclusion.

SAN'LAYN & DARK FALLEN, VAMPYR, MAN'ARI, GNOLLS

❝ Is there an application process? ❞

Glove and Gauntlet does not have a place to submit an application nor a form to fill out. We instead have a one month trial period which everyone starts on, no matter who they know in the guild or who has vouched for them, even if it was the GM themself. We reserve the right to remove anyone during their trial period.

We observe the following:

Punctuation, spelling, and grammar! This is a writing hobby, after all.
Character concept! We would appreciate a concept that meshes well with the guild.

❝ How should I make my approach? ❞

Typically, a good hook is in knowing that the Glove and Gauntlet is recruiting.
All of the information in the "About" tab is available to be used for interactions.
We are always more than happy (and intrigued) to discuss more specific introductions to your character!

THE GLOVE AND GAUNTLET

RANKS AND ROLES

THE LEADERSHIP

THE GLOVE AND GAUNTLET IS RUN BY Order Masters Chaeliss Nightgale and Tadhg Lachlain. Order Master Nightgale (not to be confused with her husband Andorizian) once led combat operations, but ultimately decided to utilize her education in book-keeping and financial arithmetic to maintain the flow of coin through the company: both in and out. Now, Order Master Lachlain surveys the field of combat with the operatives. They trust his leadership through treacherous terrain and against formidable enemies, a trust earned through previous hell and high water they've seen together. Both Order Masters are also denizens of Fox Run, and so oversee living quarters established there. Their say is law on job acceptance, contract terminations, and hiring.

OOC

The Order Masters are GM (Chaeliss) and CO-GM (Tadhg) respectively. Both work together with the officers on events, narratives, and ultimately handle guild disciplinary action. They make the last and final call on important interguild discussions.

ADVISING the Order Masters are SI:7 veterans of command: Alexander Marogos, Andorizian Nightgale. They maintain the highest ranks of the company directly beneath the Order Masters. They have a camaraderie after a lengthy service together that often sees them agreeing on employed tactics. Andorizian is often "seen" afield with Order Master Lachlain and the operatives, having once again picked up his stygian daggers to fell the enemies of the Glove and Gauntlet. His brutal efficiency demonstrates his long-lived years as a killer. Alexander Marogos is a rarer sight afield, a Commando through and through. He advises on points of entry and maneuvering hit-and-run ops.

OOC

The role of advisor is a seniormost officer rank within the guild. They assist the GM and CO-GM with editing the combat system, events, and narratives, helping the guild to function. They will also handle disciplinary action within the guild.

THE LIFEBLOOD

Though the names above keep the company running, there wouldn't be a company without the trained agents and specialists that were hired on. Agents are classified based on their skillsets first and foremost.

THE TORCH (T.O.)

Sorcerers, magi, and others who wield the differing forces of Azeroth and beyond. They offer offense, defense, and insight in a magical capacity. Like a torch: they guide, they burn, they illuminate.

QUILL POINT (Q.P.)

Those who provide administrative and clerical support to the Glove and Gauntlet, supplanting non-combat presence with issued rations, equipment maintenance, and anything else to keep the company running.

BREAK POINT (B.P.)

The individuals who make first contact, the ones who take the first blows meant for their comrades. Plate-wearers, skirmishers, heavy artillery: if you want to take the brunt of it and see everyone home, this is your calling.

INTELLIGENCE (I.N.)

Pathfinders, informants, saboteurs, all the ones you don't see (or hear) coming until it all goes dark. The I.N. is instrumental in surveillance, hit-and-runs, and providing any sort of combat advantage for the company. All without being seen.

The command structure is as follows:
ORDER MASTER(S) (GM & CO-GM)

Bosses, leaders, whatever you want to call them.
The most important thing to remember is that they
call the shots on pay, job acceptance, employment,
employment termination, and discipline.

ADVISOR(S) (OFFICERS)

Whenever the Order Masters come to a decision,
the advisors likely helped them reach it. The individuals
of this rank are to be respected as one would the
Order Masters, joining operatives afield or working
in places unseen to ensure everyone comes home.

GUARDIAN(S) (VETERAN MEMBER)

Individuals that have been with the order for
a considerable amount of time and have never
wavered in their devotion to its cause. They're trusted
implicitly to lead assignments, operate safehouses, and more.

TRUSTED (MEMBER)

The very lifeblood of the order, individuals that have
been tested and will still battle the odds for their
fellow operatives, the defenseless, and see the
assignments completed all the same.

THE GLOVE AND GAUNTLET

RP HUBS & LOCALES

Throughout its travels and achievements, the Order has established footholds throughout the continents of Azeroth. From "safehouses" to fiefdoms, our keep of Easthelm to city offices, members never have a shortage of places to write together should they want to get out of the city! (Disclaimer: non-guildmembers may rp in these places, but their actions reflect upon those who invited them.)More information about proxies and menus for these hubs can be found in our guild discord.

STORMWIND OFFICES

The Order freeholds a building in Stormwind City for its business endeavors, offering space for a meeting spot and an office. These chiefly serve as places for would-be members to approach the order or to call together meetings. Both are kept well stocked with refreshments for order members and friends alike. It is important to note that if another group is using either space that we respect this. No guild or group "owns" a place in the city.

FOX RUN

Order Master Chaeliss Nightgale and her husband Andorizian are the liege lord and lady of a county nestled within the rolling valleys and mountains of Redridge known as "Fox Run." Fellow Order Master Tadhg Lachlain is the houndmaster and advisor to the countess, another voice in matters of Fox Run's governance. He also makes his home here in the estate of Redhold. Permanent order members are offered a residence here, and on several occasions, the entire order will spend time together in this autumnal, quiet fiefdom.Visitors can find varying shops in the capital, Fox Mark, as well as a famous tavern called The Four Corners.(Menu and proxies to be found in the guild discord!)

REDHOLD

Nestled in the middle of Hunter's Station is the expansive Redhold Estate. The valley landscape provides rolling hills, vast pastures, and thick woodlands, with lovely vantages of the majestic Redridge Mountains. The estate manor is an older two-story farmhouse of stone and wood surrounded by pastures dotted with creeks, ponds, and barns. Finely made fences knotted with rose and vine line the roadways. While the estate is still mostly empty, it boasts fertile soil for gardening, and is being slowly turned into a horse ranch, dog kennel, and safe haven for animals in need of permanent or temporary boarding.

ROSEHEARTH

The dreamy dwelling of the order's resident witch and ritualist expert, Adoreynna Morgan. Ever since she has taken up residence, the land surrounding the cottage has bloomed inexplicably. The people of Fox Run remain weary of the Witch of Rosehearth, yet they cannot deny her crops last a good deal longer than most and fetch fair coin.Be warned, however stoked your curiosities about superstitions and talks of deals, you may not simply show to Rosehearth without an explicit invitation from the witch herself.

Ravenvalley

A barony in the gloam of Duskwood lorded over by one Alexander Marogos. A premium lumber supplier, a place of brutal training for would-be intelligence operatives and certain magi, Ravenvalley serves several purposes away from prying eyes. Due to its number of livestock, working lumbermills, and reputed training facilities, it is kept under surveillance. It is to be noted that order members may not simply arrive here. For training and the like, the absolute permission of Alexander Marogos is required.

East helm

East Helm is the order's own keep, separated from Fox Run and nestled in a place where none should even find it by accident. It is cradled by the Redridge, Deadwind Pass, and the Swamp of Sorrows. A perilous journey, but traversible by our order members.East Helm boasts a small armory, a mage's tower, forge, and infirmary. It has reached its final point of progression largely in thanks to the efforts of order members, namely Balathraku.

THE LAST DIVE

THE LAST DIVE is a popular tavern located seaside in the Boralus Harbor. Boasting drinking and dining rooms both interior and open air, this tavern is known for serving a variety of locally brewed and distilled drinks as well as a vast selection of imports.Once the residence of the prior owner and his family, the upper level of the main tavern house has been converted into rentable rooms.Glove & Gauntlet operatives always eat, drink, and sleep for free. But don't no one dare utter the name "Malveaux" here.(Menu and proxies to be found in the guild discord!)

LEADERSHIP

ORDER MASTER, PROVEDITOR

(art by Halchroma)

Chaeliss Nightgale was raised for a life of politicking and courtly manner, but the fate of Lordaeron upended these expectations. A graduated illusioner of the Dalarani college in Lordamere and an experienced political infiltrator of SI:7, she has more than her fair share of both combat and stately experience. This culmination of skillsets as well as a honed business acuity have made her a steady hand in keeping the Glove and Gauntlet on course against scheming statesmen and corruption where it lies.

ORDER MASTER, FIELD COMMANDER

(art by Oxiente)

Tadhg Lachlain grew up in his homeland of Gilneas, taught to be self-reliant and self-sustaining. A true salt of the earth man, his temperament is gentle but belies a ferocity beneath. A tested veteran of the Gilnean civil war, his scarred eye is a testament of what he will give to a cause he believes in and the people he serves it with. He is often flanked by loyal hounds with rifle at his back, always determined to see the operatives of the order home, willing to step into hardships with them.

ADVISOR, COMMANDO VETERAN

(art by Dancinfox)

Alexander "Talon" Marogos is a veteran of SI:7 and former handler and commanding officer to Order Master Nightgale. Rightly so, she often defers to him with the same amount of respect, if not more, as she did in the years of her service. The Stromic commando has served in an advisor capacity to several notable organizations with a successful operation ratio to rival and outclass many others in his field. The Baron of Ravenvalley is a man uncommonly found, and those who go looking for him often learn it best to leave him undisturbed.

ADVISOR, CHIEF OF INTELLIGENCE

(art by Noirsnow)

Andorizian "the Deft" Nightgale has served his people and the Alliance as a brutally efficient killer capable with sword, bow, and dagger though he prefers the latter. A name spoken with reverence throughout the veteran halls of SI:7 alongside longtime friend Alexander Marogos, Andorizian has also established ties to the military at large through his record of assassinated enemies to the crown and dismantling terrorist organizations. Today, he is an advisor to his wife and Field Commander Lachlain.

ORDER GUARDIANS

BATTLE-MAGE, FOLK HEROINE

(art by Puck/Eike)

Elestri Bloodrose, a sorceress of renown and a folk heroine whose name is household throughout the province of Elwynn, the dark of Duskwood, the mountains of Redridge. Stormwind-born, she continues to prove the resilience and spirit of her home kingdom, reminding the Alliance, the Horde, and other forces of Azeroth that theirs is not a people to dismiss. A formidable battle-mage who can both torch fields and repel even the most devastating spellwork, her mind for the arcane is an astonishment. But heroism is not only found in great feats of magic. She has established herself as a humanitarian, safeguarding the defenseless and arranging the urgent delivery of aid where it is needed most.

CONTRACT SUMMONER, OCCULT EXPERT

(art by Amionna)

Adoreynna Morgan comes from the snow-capped mountains of Alterac, making a name for herself as the Witch of Rosehearth. Where once she brushed with the Syndicate and a coven of warlocks who wrought destruction upon their victims, Adoreynna Morgan has forged a new path for herself amongst the order. Darkness and foul creatures heed her call, turned against their ilk for the betterment of the world and people in it. Her knowledge of the macabre and grotesque have been a boon, equipping fellow operatives with an advantage over those who seek to leave only rot and ruin in their wake. Demons and summoners alike know and fear the deals of the Witch Morgan.
